Venus Fly Trap VS. Baseball Plant

This activity was very interesting because I never knew any of the 10 plants were real. They were all very weird. My favourite was the Venus Fly Trap because it looks vicious and I wonder if it can hurt a human if it bites you. Here is a Venn diagram I did with my Mum.

  1. Kia Ora Tanner,

Wow, you guys have done an amazing job creating a interesting and informative Venn Diagram. Your google drawings of the plants look great! They look very similar to the real plants! I had no idea what a baseball plant was before reading your blog. I can see why they have called it a baseball plant but I don’t think I would want to play baseball with it! When I was younger I had a Venus Fly Trap and I was so excited. But it actually doesn’t move quickly, it’s actually very slow. Which means when the flies land on the red part of it, it slowly closes its ‘mouth’ trapping the fly inside!

Well done for including plenty of images as well! I know the task asked you to add pictures but just for next time, here is a friendly reminder about using photos that aren’t ours :)

Every time that we use an image on our blog, it's really important that we tell our readers where we found it, and give credit to the owner of the picture. To properly credit a picture you will need to include a link to the site where you found the image. We have created a guide that you might find helpful. You can check it out here:

You will need to follow these instructions to earn full points for any Summer Learning Journey activity that has asked you to post an image :)

If you need any help with attributing your images, you can look at that guide but if you have any questions you can comment below and I will answer them. Otherwise you can also email Georgia who visited your school. Her email is kaikohekohecluster@gmail.com.

I look forward to reading more of your posts soon!

    Blog ya later,

  2. Hi Tanner,
I love Venus Fly traps - I found some in the wild and kept some in Canada!
