Activity 2: Acknowledging Ancestry
This is my Pepeha that my Uncle and my Mum helped me with. I was nervous when Mum was recording me but I got there in the end. It was funny talking in another language.

Hi Tanner,
ReplyDeleteRuby here from the Summer Learning Journey team!
Great work with your pepeha! It looks great written down. I have requested access to the document you have attached. Is that the recording?
Have you written your pepeha before? It seems like you have figured out all the answers quite nicely if you haven't!
I think that acknowledging our whakapapa is important and knowing our pepehas also helps us to understand ourselves better.
I look forward to reading more of your blog over summer.
Cheers,
Ruby.
HI Ruby,
ReplyDeleteAre you able to view the video now?
I have written my school Pepeha at school but this one is my family one. My uncle helped me.
Hi Tanner,
DeleteI can! Thanks for sharing that! You've done a really good job with the pronunciation.
It's great to get help with these things because you don't want to get it wrong! Who was it that was helping you with some of the pronunciation in the video? :)
Cheers,
Ruby.
Hi Ruby,
DeleteIt was really hard to say some words. My Mum was helping me say the words.
Hi Tanner,
DeleteIt can be really hard to say some of those words! They have such a different sound from the English language. But you've done a great job! And it's great that your Mum could help you :)
Cheers,
Ruby.
